All visits done in the comfort of your own home.

We know that you are busy, and as your family and your new baby grows, getting out of the house for monthly visits can be challenging. All of our care is done in your home where you can relax and simply enjoy getting to know your team. We schedule between 30-60 minutes for each visit to allow plenty of time for discussion of any questions or concerns that you may have.

Prenatal visits include:

• Encouragement and practical suggestions for you and your family to have good nutrition, make healthy lifestyle choices and suggestions about ways you can take good care of yourself and your baby.
• Accurate and up to date information about recommended tests and procedures so that you can make informed choices about your care.
• Appropriate monitoring of baby and mother on a regular basis.Recommendations available for ultrasounds and other testing as they become needed or desired.

At Mazzara Midwifery we recognize that women and families choose home birth for a variety of reasons. We serve each of our clients with respect for you, your family, your choices and beliefs. The natural process of labor and birth are supported by paying close attention to the needs of the laboring mom & the well being of the baby. We monitor both throughout and offer support ,encouragement and suggestions where needed. You are free to eat, move, bathe- to do whatever helps you during labor.  We can offer assistance with non pharmaceutical pain relief, comfort measures and coping techniques.

Postpartum monitoring of mom and baby

Our team continues to closely monitor mom and baby until they are stable. We clean up, make tea and a little something to eat for mom. We provide breast feeding support and education on basic newborn concerns. Newborn screen and birth certificate worksheet are provided. We visit 3-4 times within the first week after birth and then again at 2 weeks and 6 weeks.

Fees for Services

Initial consultation visit is always free.  Should you decide to hire Mazzara Midwifery the intake visit is $85.  Each home visit after that is $45.  Birth fee is between $1800 and $2300.

Mazzara Midwifery never wants money to be thing that keeps a woman from giving birth in the setting of her choosing. We are happy to discuss payment plans and barter.
