The initial prenatal visit is like this

General medical history and health assessment is taken

Family history including maternal obstetric history

Fetal development and healthy pregnancy information and counseling

Physical Exam to include but not limited to:

            Height

            Weight

            Blood pressure

            Pulse

                        Abdomen to include; fundal height, fetal position and fetal heart tones 

Estimation of gestational age and due date based on findings

Assessment of edema, reflexes and varicosities

Blood draw for laboratory tests.

Gross urinanlasis to asses for glucose protein and other wellness indicators

Everything is documented

Questions are answered

The next visit is scheduled and payment is documented

How often will you want to see me?

Once a month until 34 weeks

From 34 weeks to 38 every other week

From 38 weeks until delivery once a week.
