Dads, Babies and Bonding
Having a baby is not just the birth of one, but the birth of a Mother AND a Father. Fathers have a fundamental influence on the health and well being of babies and mothers. A dad's journey to parenthood is very different from a mother's, but it is just as important, a transition from being a man to being a father.
At Mazzara Midwifery we hope to make all members of the mother's birth team feel welcome and involved. Fathers are welcome at prenatal visits and are encouraged to call with any concerns they have- Sometimes dads have a question about pregnancy that moms do not. We encourage dads to participate in labor and delivery at whatever level of involvement they feel most comfortable. During labor it is really important that dads take care of themselves, eat, drink, rest, go to the bathroom. The most difficult thing you will ever do is to witness your partner go through the work of labor and birth.
